Bar examination

Admission to the bar examination
Anyone who can prove the necessary practical work in terms of Art. 4 of the Act on Lawyers and a training certificate in terms of Art. 5 of the Act on Lawyers may apply for admission to the bar examination.

Those who have already passed the bar examination in an EEA member state or in Switzerland may take the EEA examination of professional competence in Liechtenstein.

Admission to the bar examination and to the EEA examination of professional competence must be applied for at the Liechtenstein Chamber of Lawyers. The Examining Committee for Lawyer is competent for carrying out the examination.

The Liechtenstein Institute offers colloquia to prepare for the bar exam or the EEA qualifying examination, if there is interest on the part of the exam candidates. Registration for the colloquia is accepted by the Liechtenstein Institute. In addition, corresponding courses are also offered by the Bar in cooperation with the University of Liechtenstein.

The exam can be taken exclusively in German.
